Night @ Jae Mayes

So last night iD & Khi linked up with Jae Mayes and hit up his studio. As we all know(if you didn't ,well now you know) Jae Mayes hosts every Tuesday night @ Crown Pub with DJ's Frank Browm &Sholin! And being that LRT  are regulars why not get them on a mixtape that Crown Pub is putting out to showcase the Tuesday nights they have going on!!
The mixtape track got done real quick as Khiry spit an unknown verse to anyones ears yet, just ya'll wait delievering his gritty, raspy style, but with metphors and hiddens meanings, and catch 22 yet smooth flow.iD laced the track next with, thought out revolutionary tactics in the rhyme and pin point motivating flow of upliftment!Jae recording everything and making sure them kids sound right.

The next big thing is the fullout track in production from these 3 Cats.Picked out from a stack of Jae Mayes' beats was this one 60's heartfelt sample and love song of soul for HER.The song is called "Heaven must Have..." We can't wait for this song to come out and drop it,we're gonna take all ya'll back on this one!!Real, real pretty song on the rise!

Crown  Pub mixtape due out in April and hopefully we can perform "Heaven must Have..." on the 13th of March @ Wolly Bullies when Jae Mayes & Shaw Langley open for LRT!!!We'll see, you'll hear

Poerty Slam!

So every Tuesday evening/night Rouge Lounge has poerty sessions going on!!EXCITING!!
The night was hosted by Dirt Girtie(Politic Live) and it was a Poerty Slam comp, with the winner getting on the Edmonton Team that will go to Ottawa and compete. There were some really crazy, thoughtout, performances!!Subjects like misery being bi-racial,being a black woman, pride, time, the list goes on.And all were so insightful. The winner of th night was a female named Danille, her first time out at the Lounge. She won by just a fraction with a peice about having coarse hair(rythmic,Truthful, emotion filled, door opening peice;)!
The end of the night had a female trio called Shiq Addiction, (whom host @ Rouge Lounge every Fri.)performing 3 covers and 1 original song.Nice RnB to finish everything off!!!Mingled with the crowd, ran into some ladies that were @ the Haiti Relief show on Friday, and had an interview with a journalism student some Grant Mac!!!

Locution: a type of/or stlyle of speech...  Revolution: a drastic or dramatic overthrowing or change.Coming together November of 2006, these showmen can be mistaken for superheroes, or cowboys, and also played with by many as action figures. iD, Khi-Guy, and DJ Budakron.  They spanned the globe musically from Rap to Folk, over to  Reggae, and forward with Soul and beyond.  iD raps and harmonizes on the harmonica, while Khiry raps / sings harmony while dancing with his signature "Kain", while DJ Budakron compliments the flow with cuts of energy while caught in the moment! They have traveled throughout Western Canada and have become known as  show stealers, because of their antics, dancing, crowd interaction, and no lack of skills.  They are sure to impress any music lover!
Opening for the likes of the Genius (GZA), Kirby Dominant, Ira Lee!

"WALK TALL" -1st Quarter of 2010

This album will show the standard that LR live and strive for.Putting Canada on notice,an album like "WALK TALL" hasn't come along in a very long time.Sure to be a classic:"WALK TALL"(The 3rd release on the Locution Revolution records)stands to be the breakthrough album for the TriCultural bandmates!

Here are some thoughts and views about LR:
"Locution Revolution is like cold ice cream on a hot summers day"
-Katrina Bray (President and Chair of Heart of the City Festival)

"Locution Revolution is a progressive Hip-Hop trio whose lyrics remind
us of a time when songs were imaginative. With the creation of their
annual, Hip-Hop In The Park, Locution Revolution has shown their
journey in music will not only include making great songs, but building community around them simultaneously."
-Arlo Maverick (Music for Mavericks, Politic Live, CJSR)

"They happen to be a couple of the hardest-working cats in the Edmonton scene, with multiple projects on the go."
    -Kevin Maimann, (Edmonton Sun)

"Tafari and his musical partner/producer iD (Locution Revolution) are known for bringing a bit of surreal flair to their live performances"
    -Francois Marchand, (Edmonton Journal)

"These guys been holding it down 'round here for a minute. A hard working independent fusion of  soul blues reggae and Hip Hop."
   -Shortop (DJ, guest-host on Rapcity)

"Locution Revolution's iD, Khiry Tafari and DJ Budarkon are a tri-cultural musical recipe representing the progressive evolution in Canadian Hip Hop.  With revolutionary songs geared in the KRS One direction which entwine the hopefulness of Bob Marley and mix in the heaviness heard by Johnny Cash, this Edmonton collective etched out and concreted a new wave of music – western Hip Hop.I anticipate their soon-to-be third release to be breaking both sound and geographical boundaries."
   -Melissa Bishop(Freelance Writer,L+P Productions,Promoter)

"Locution Revolution's performance/stage show is high energy, thought
provoking rhymes, and it doesn't matter if its crowds of 200 or 1000,
They always give the same professional performance."
  -DJ Heywood (DJ & Promoter)

"Locution Revolution is a shining example of the creative Hip Hop
coming out of Edmonton. they know how to rock the stage and entertain
a crowd! Khiry, iD and Budakron are fresh!"
-Vlad (Peoples Poets, Co-Founder & Owner of Solidaritees)

"LR's music has something for everyone; they are not
your average musicians. This is evident when you attend one of their
live shows; the audience is made up of people that are different ages,
styles and musical tastes."
-Stef Torres(Founder & Owner of "In 3's Tees")
